2.RULES

Races will be governed by:

- the current ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RSS);

- the current International Dragon Class Rules;

- this Notice of Race;

- the Sailing instructions (SI) and subsequent changes made by the Organizing Authority, the

Race Committee and the Jury, also changing the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, if

posted not less than two hours before the starting scheduled time of the race.

In the event of conflict, Rule 63.7 shall apply.

- The official language of the regatta is Italian. If there is a conflict between languages, the

Italian text will prevail.

- The weight crew restrictions of the class rule 13.30 will apply.

- No prescriptions of the National Authority will apply.

3. ADVERTISING

Advertising is allowed in compliance with Rule 20.4 ISAF.

Boats may be required to display during the regatta the sponsor’s flags and/or adhesives at

both sides of the hull, chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

4. ELIGIBILITY

ISAF regulation 19 applies.

Only International Dragon Class yachts holding valid Measurement Certificates shall compete.

Persons in charge of boats shall be up-to-date members of their National Dragon Association.

Italian helmsmen and crew members shall have a valid 2011 FIV card.

5. ENTRIES AND REGISTRATION

5.1 Formal entry forms from each yacht shall be submitted by the deadline of 20 October 2011

to Porto Maurizio Yacht Club, e-mail: info@pmyc.it

including

- copy of the third party liability insurance of the boat, valid for racing, with a minimum cover of 1.000.000,00 Euro per event or the equivalent.

- receipt of the payment of the entry fee;

- copy of the measurement certificate.

5.2 The entry fee is 150,00 Euro. Payment by direct bank transfer to Porto Maurizio Yacht

Club, Bank IBAN IT60Y0326810500052895771840 BIC SELBIT2BXXX indicating the yacht

sailing number.

The fee includes carnage (one launch and one haul out), berthing in the Marina for the whole

duration of the race and one dinner for 3 persons.

6. MEASUREMENT AND EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS

Yachts shall have a valid measurement certificate at time of registration.

Inspections can be carried out on boats and/or equipment prior, during and after the races

following the request of the Race Committee or Jury. Boats and sails shall be already measured

and be in compliance with Class Rules.

7. RACE SCHEDULE

October 28 14:00-17:00 Registration

October 29 09:00-11:00 Registration

12:00 Warning signal for the first of up to three races

October 30 10:00 One or more race; prize giving ceremony

The Race Committee may sail up to three races per day.

If there will be variations in comparison with the first day, the scheduled time of the first

warning signal of the second day will be posted at the official notice board before 19:00.

The Organizing Committee may modify the race schedule in case of adverse weather or any

other circumstance.

8. COURSES

Races will be windward/leeward courses in the Gulf of Imperia as described in the Sailing

Instructions

9. PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the first three boats classified in the overall standing.

The Memorial Ernesto Quaranta will be awarded to the first classic Dragon.

10. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing Instructions will be available to competitors after completing their entry formalities,

from 14:00 of October 28.

11. SCORING

A maximum of four (4) races will be sailed. The low points scoring system of Appendix A of

ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing will apply. Discards as in the Sailing Instructions.

12. VHF RADIOS

VHF Radios may be used on a receive only basis whilst racing, except in case of emergency.

13. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk, see Rule 4, Decision to Race.

The Organising Authority, the Race Committee and the Jury will not accept any liability for

material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during,

or after the regatta. Organizers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal

injury that might occur, as the helmsmen are solely responsible for the decision to race.

“Organizers” means all people helping in conducting the regatta and the event and include the

Organizing Authority, the Race Committee, the Race Officers, the safety and support boats and

staff. The presence of safety boats does not relieve the boat’s helmsmen from their own

responsibility. The inspections of the boats by the Race Committee do not reduce above-said

responsibilities of the boat. Competitors are suggested to have their own personal insurance

against accidents.

14. INSURANCE

In compliance with Italian Sailing Federation and ISAF Rules in force, each participating boat

shall be insured with third-party insurance with a minimum cover of 1.000.000 € for event or

the equivalent, valid during racing. At the registration the Organizing Authority shall ask copy

of the insurance certificate.

15. IMAGE RIGHTS

Attending this event the yacht owners, their crew members and guests give the Organizing

Authority and its sponsors the rights and authorization to publish and/or distribute in any way

photographs and videos of people and boats made during the event, even for press release

and/or advertising.

16.Events

October 28 18:00 Happy hour; tasting of local wine and cheese.

October 29 20:00 Ligurian dinner in the countryside.

Vouchers will be distributed to the crews; additional vouchers can

be purchased 30€ at registration.
